MIXING TECHNOLOGIES
NUVO® is home to both an intermeshing and a tangential mixer thus providing the company with the capability to mix a broad range of compounds of varying complexity. NUVO® has successfully manufactured compounds using a range of polymers including NR, SBR, EPDM, BR, NBR, IIR and CR.
FARREL K6 INTERMIX®
NUVO®’s intermeshing machine is a Farrel K6 Intermix® fitted with NR5™ rotor technology. These rotors ensure the maximum possible dispersion of ingredients and fillers making it ideal for processing of technologically advanced compounds.
FARREL F305 BANBURY®
NUVO® also commissioned a new Farrel F305 Banbury® mixer in 2009 which is fitted with NST™ rotors – the latest technology Banbury® rotors offered by Farrel. Studies have shown that use of NST™ rotors, over the standard 2-wing rotors, leads to compound physical property improvement of up to 12%, and up to 17% improvement in energy efficiency.

NUVO®’s mixing lines include VMI automatic batch-off systems which ensure effective cooling and efficient packing. These systems allow the rubber slab to be slit using individually controlled pneumatic knives.
